The Pharmaceutical Alliance is a collaboration of three research based pharmaceutical companies: Eli Lilly, Merck Sharp & Dohme and sanofi-aventis. The companies have a strong focus on demonstrating the value of innovative medicines when used appropriately in the community. The Pharmaceutical Alliance is committed to health system improvements which incorporate concepts such as evidence based practice and Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) to improve health outcomes for all Australians.
The Pharmaceutical Alliance is proactive in contributing to the delivery of better health outcomes and has been involved in a number of major projects to trial, demonstrate and evaluate potential improvements to the Australian healthcare system. These projects share the core characteristics of The Pharmaceutical Alliance’s approach to success: partnership, innovation and long term commitment.
The Pharmaceutical Alliance has initiated a number of healthcare forums which have explored topics around new initiatives in data collection and assessment. The objective of these forums was to bring together a range of stakeholders from the healthcare community to optimise opportunities, activities and economic objectives related to QUM. These forums were developed and co-hosted with other key healthcare stakeholders.
